Sir Wilfrid Laurier Elementary School, Vancouver

We visited Laurier Elementary on a tour of school libraries. It’s an old-fashioned and comfortable school with a library in a classroom-like setting. The large open-area space is divided into “rooms” where different activities can happen. Books and other materials are displayed in a very appealing way.

Highlights

Lots of light.
It might be preferable to hire adult artists to paint murals in schools rather than having the children produce the artwork.
